Garage Floor Coatings

Epoxy and polyaspartic garage floors, specified before you get three different quotes

Installed floor coatings in the Bay Area typically run $6–$10 per square foot for a polyaspartic system and $4–$8 for epoxy — roughly $2,400–$6,000 for a 400–600 sq ft two-car garage. Heavy repair, moisture mitigation and custom patterns cost more.

Ranges are published third-party and retailer figures observed October 2026, not quotes. Your contractors set the price; see the cost guide.

Garage Floor Coatings — concept render on a sample garage

Concept render on a sample garage — not a completed project.

A garage floor coating is only as good as the prep. We specify grind-not-acid-etch, crack and pit repair, a moisture check on slabs near Brentwood and Livermore clay soils, and a polyaspartic topcoat for UV stability and hot-tire resistance when the garage faces afternoon sun.

Your quotes then describe the same system — prep method, base coat, flake density, topcoat, cure time — so you compare price, not mystery. We sequence the floor after painting and before cabinets, and plan a 24–72 hour cure before anything rolls back in.
